His shop is easy to find these days. It’s full of women fighting over Ali Baba or Aladdin slippers that he started to make way back in 1980. The inspiration came during his visit to Turkey when he bought the moulds, took them home and adapted them for production.
At first Aladdin slippers were meant for indoor wear only. They were embroidered and had a soft satin sole. They were mostly bought before Christmas and as presents for nostalgic friends living abroad. However last year a couple of tourists came to the shop and fell in love with the slippers, put them on immediately and walked out. Ahmed realised that the slippers were soon to become a fashion success and he started to adapt them for outdoor wear. He started to use a stronger thread, made stronger soles and improved embroidery on them. Each pair has unique design with beads and glitter. It usually takes couple of hours to create a new design.
Flow is delighted to offer his slippers and can guarantee that each pair is unique!
